Once the Greg Simpson Band takes the stage their rock-star persona becomes immediately apparent. Greg is an exceptional talent that relies on his gritty vocals to transform classics from Journey, the Eagles, Styx, Fleetwood Mac, and many others into fresh-sounding masterpieces. His musicianship is well-respected in the industry and he has shared the stage with many notable artists such as Jewel, SheDaisy, and Shane Jackman. Greg Simpson is an amazing concert performer, but is also great for dances, parties, fairs, corporate events, and festivals.
Then we come to Freddie Mercury. A legend among legends. Freddie’s voice was so powerful and had a range that most singers only dream of acquiring. He is listed as one of the greatest frontman in history, which is no surprise to anyone who has seen it in person or on video. His death will be mourned for many more years.
The first track of The Who’s Who’s Next album is sometimes otherwise known as “Teenage Wasteland.” Taking the name from Pete Townshend’s influences, the spiritual guru Meher Baba and minimalist music genius Terry Riley, whose work was the inspiration of the song’s hypnotizingly repetitive electronic textures. It is one of The Who’s greatest legacies to classic rock.
Led Zeppelin defined central aspects of the emerging genre, with Page’s highly distorted guitar style and singer Robert Plant’s dramatic, wailing vocals. Other bands, with a more consistently heavy, “purely” metal sound, would prove equally important in codifying the genre. Written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, this is easily the greatest classic rock song of all time. The song opens with an acoustic-based folk intro and is highlighted by hard-edged rock music courtesy of Page’s intricate guitar work. Despite being never released as a single, it was the most requested song on the radio.
This band showed astounding talent in every aspect of music. Listen to any of their songs to listen to Robert Plant’s triple octive voice. Listen to Kashmir or Moby Dick to hear John Bonham’s drum skills or The Lemon Song to hear one of the greatest bass lines ever.
The Eagles also enjoyed astronomical commercial success during their 70s-80s heyday. In 1971 the founding members started out as a backing band for singer Linda Ronstadt; with her blessing, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon decided to start their own band.
Nice Not sure where people are getting the idea that this sampler is only free for 30 days unless they’re confusing the free trial for Google’s music service with it. The sampler is free indefinitely. Yes, it has limitations. You can only play tracks from Google within Google’s media player. Other than that, enjoy a few free tracks. I like it because I didn’t already have 3 of the tracks offered here.
