This is my best list in my opinion to date. My opinion for the best classic rock (even though they’re all not technically “classic rock”) songs from 1964 – 1989 are on this list. View, comment and rate. Enjoy 😀

This song by Aerosmith is included in their album Toys in the Attic which gave the band the breakthrough success they aspired. It still rocks to high heaven, even 40 years after it was first released.

Jump up ^ Clark, Pete (August 1989). “Stevie Nicks: The Other Side of the Mirror”. High Fidelity. p. 110. ISSN 0018-1455. Stevie Nicks could never be accused of having a sense of humour, but despite her insistence on filling the studio with candles for the sake of atmosphere, she’s well capable of turning out the kind of mellifluous soft rock as evidenced on ‘Rooms On Fire’, the first single.

11 Black Sabbath Black Sabbath were a Heavy Metal band formed in Birmingham, England in 1968 by guitarist and songwriter Tony Iommi, Singer Ozzy Osbourne, Bassist and Main Lyricist Geezer Butler and Drummer Bill Ward. The band got into mainstream after improving after their debut album got negative feedback. In 1978, …read more.

Just listen 2 the lyrics. Lennon was a lyrical genius. He could come up with a simple word 2 match McCartney’s tune or lyrics 2 write a complete song. I just hope the world realizes the music genius we lost when he was murdered on December 8 1980.

Classic Rock reviews any that even comes close to being classified as rock, including albums, DVDs, concerts and books. It includes an annual award for best new band. Acts such as Rose Hill Drive, Muse, DragonForce, The Trews, Wolfmother and The Answer have all been featured.

Sometimes the best songs have the simplest licks. Guitarist Keith Richards created the main guitar lick in “Satisfaction,” a three-note riff played with a Gibson fuzzbox, which made the guitar sound like a saxophone, with which Richards hoped to replace it at some point – but the producers said no way Jose. Anyway, the song was performed live for the first time on Shindig!, an American TV show on which everything was performed live. You gotta love it! Many Boomers probably remember watching this memorable show. Not surprisingly, Rolling Stone magazine picked “Satisfaction” #2 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

There are many layers to the opioid crisis, from the over-prescribing of prescription drugs to those who are helping their communities fight the epidemic.  You’ll find those stories and more in these four documentaries.

There are bands that don’t have a single other band to even come close to them. Led Zeppelin had some of the greatest guitar solos the world has ever seen. Jimmy Page re-defined the way people play the guitar. Robert Plant is the greatest screamer ever. He actually sounds good. John Paul Jones was the fastest bassist trying to keep up with Jimmy when he did a guitar solo. Not many people could do that. And then you’ve got the greatest drummer ever who sat behind a drum kit. His solo in Rock and Roll is one of the greatest I’ve ever heard. And that brings me o my final quote: LED ZEPPELIN RULE!

Played by masters of metal AC/DC, “Back in Black” has an incredibly infectious beat nobody can resist. (Listen to it right now and see if you can keep from gleefully jumping up and down.) Appearing on an album of the same name, the album sold 50 million copies – the second highest selling album ever – while “Back in Black” the song peaked at #37 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. A tribute to former lead singer Bon Scott, who died young at 33, Brian Johnson, Scott’s replacement, was asked to write the song and then the band created one of the most memorable hard-rock tunes of all time.

4 Guns N Roses Guns N’ Roses is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1985. Never say never…except in this case. Led Zeppelin fans have been clamoring for a reunion of the iconic English rock band for decades, but a comeback tour sounds almost impossible. Following drummer John Bonham’s death in 1980, the three surviving band members reunited a couple of times for special gigs, but lead singer Robert Plant has long slammed the idea of a reunion tour. In 2014, Plant told Rolling Stone he has no plans to follow the path of some of his classic rock peers who continue to deal with the stadium tour circus.
